Sunday was Arjun Tendulkar’s first game in the 2023 Indian Premier League. He played for the Mumbai Indians.
Arjun Tendulkar, the son of the famous former cricket player Sachin, finally got to play in the Indian Premier League on Sunday afternoon. He was given the Mumbai Indians cap during the game against the Kolkata Knight Riders. Arjun was on the MI team last year, but he didn’t make it into the starting 11. After his time with the franchise ended last year, Arjun moved from Mumbai to Goa to join his local team. He then went on to hit his first century in first-class cricket.
Arjun is a cricket all-rounder who has played in seven FC matches and taken 12 wickets. He has also made 223 runs with an average of 24.77. The 23-year-old all-rounder has taken 12 wickets in nine Twenty20 matches and eight in seven 50-over games.
When Arjun finally made his first IPL start for the Mumbai Indians, Twitter was full of great reactions:
At the Wankhede Stadium, MI’s stand-in captain, Suryakumar Yadav, won the toss and chose to bowl first. Rohit Sharma is sick with a stomach bug and can’t play in the game, so Suryakumar is leading the team. Rohit, on the other hand, is an impact player in the match against KKR.
Sachin Tendulkar was a guide to Arjun as he played his first game for MI. The all-rounder’s sister, Sara Tendulkar, was also at the Wankede Stadium in Mumbai to watch.
The MI are currently ninth in the points table with one win in three games. After losing to Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings in their first two games, they got their first win this week against Delhi Capitals, beating them by six wickets in a last-ball thriller.
KKR, on the other hand, are in fifth place with two wins and two losses.
