Watch: Nitish Rana loses temper, charges at Hrithik Shokeen in furious argument during MI vs KKR; Suryakumar intervenes

When KKR played MI on Sunday, Nitish Rana and Hrithik Shokeen were seen having a heated argument before Suryakumar stepped in.

The rivalry between Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders dates back to the first season of the league, albeit it is not as well-known as the one between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings, which is referred to as the “El Clasico” of the IPL. Therefore, there is that passion and excitement among players as well, which frequently results in intense circumstances. At the historic Wankhede Stadium on Sunday, when KKR faced MI for the 32nd time in the IPL, skipper Nitish Rana was spotted getting into a heated argument with Mumbai bowler Hrithik Shokeen before Suryakumar Yadav stepped in to mediate. It took place in the ninth over of the game, after MI’s acting skipper Suryakumar had sent KKR off the field. Rana attempted to block Hrithik’s delivery by sprinting down the track, but he absolutely botched it. The ball had enough height but not enough distance before it neatly landed in Ramandeep Singh’s hands in the deep. Rana’s inning concluded with 5 off 10, and KKR fell behind by three.

Hrithik took a shot at Rana as soon as he began to walk towards the KKR dugout in a disgruntled and slightly enraged state. Rana lost his cool and charged at the MI bowler, starting a heated fight that was quickly broken up by interim captain Suryakumar. Before turning back and walking into the dugout, the KKR captain was seen yelling and pointing towards Hrithik.

It was Hrithik’s first wicket of the game, and during his spell, he also got rid of Shardul Thakur, returning him for just 13 off 11 balls in the 13th over.

Arjun Tendulkar, who was initially selected by the franchise in 2021, made his eagerly anticipated IPL debut earlier in the game for the Mumbai Indians. Rohit Sharma was resting due to a “stomach bug” in the meantime, although he is on the list of impact players.
