Controversies

• In 2007, 40 people from his neighborhood complained to the Ranchi Regional Development Authority (RRDA) that M.S. Dhoni’s swimming pool used 15,000 liters of water every day to keep it clean. At the time, there was a big problem with water in his area.

• He was accused of avoiding paying taxes on his Hummer H2 because it was wrongly registered as a Mahindra Scorpio, which has a registration fee of *53,000 instead of the required *4 lakhs.

• During the spot-fixing scandal in the 2013 IPL, the Supreme Court kept an eye on Dhoni. Gurunath Meiyappan, who was named in a betting charge sheet, was in touch with him. Later, Dhoni said that Gurunath Meiyappan was just a fan of cricket. Meiyappan, on the other hand, was a full-fledged team owner.

• In 2016, he quit his job as a brand spokesperson for the Amrapali real estate group after residents of one of the Amrapali units ran a social media campaign about problems with the community’s infrastructure.

Several Uncommon Realities About Mahendra Singh Dhoni

• Does Mahendra Singh Dhoni smoke? : No.

• His ancestors settled in the village of Lawli, which is located in the Almora district of Uttarakhand. His father, Pan Singh, left the village for a job in a steel mill in Ranchi in the 1970s.

• The last name of MS Dhoni is Dhauni, not Dhoni. His uncle, Ghanpath Singh Dhauni, said that his last name was misspelled on his school records, which could not be fixed no matter how many times he asked.

• He got a score of 65% on his 10th Boards.

• In 1993, his school’s cricket teacher, KR Banerjee, first saw him as a goalkeeper. He then asked him to try his hand at wicket-keeping.
