“My first ‘live’ World Cup action came during the 1987 edition, which India and Pakistan co-hosted.” I was fortunate to get chosen as a ball boy for the matches in Mumbai from among the volunteers. I kept telling myself as I stood there watching the Indian greats on the field that I needed to be in the center of the action.
- He met his wife Anjali for the first time at the Mumbai airport when he was 17, and they married five years later. The couple went on to have two children, Arjun and Sara.
- Anjali, his wife, said in an interview that she went to Tendulkar’s house for the first time disguised as a journalist.

Sachin was asked to field during a festival match between India and Pakistan at Mumbai’s Brabourne Stadium in 1987, when Javed Miandad and Abdul Qadir departed the field at midday. Imran Khan positioned him at long-on, and soon after, Kapil Dev hit the ball in the air in Sachin’s direction; Sachin attempted but was unable to reach the ball.

Tendulkar scored only 17 in that innings, but the next game was in Perth, and Tendulkar’s captivating 114 in only his second innings at No. 4 put the game out of reach. “I frequently received advice to switch to a lighter bat because I used a fairly heavy one. Again, I tried, but because that weight was so important to my entire bat swing, I was never comfortable. The weight was necessary for me to produce power while I was hitting a drive. Everything has to do with timing. The bat should, in my opinion, be an extension of your arm; therefore, if you have already reached the point where it has done so, why make a change? “

I’ve never had a shave from someone else before, which you might not know. Today, that mark was broken. It was an honor to meet the barbershop girls. Dreams do not discriminate.

“When I first started opening the batting for India in 1994, everyone’s strategy was to save wickets.” What I attempted to do was quite unconventional. I figured I could go up front and take on the opposing bowlers. But I had to beg and beg for a chance. If I fail, I will not pursue you again.”
- By uploading an old video of him practicing on soggy ground in September 2019, he took his fans on a trip down memory lane. The young master may be seen training on a pitch with standing water while utilizing rubber balls and short-range bowling.

I even recall that the selectors did not choose me during my initial trials for selection. I remember being sad at the time because I believed I had batted well, but the outcome was not what I had anticipated, and I was not chosen. But after it, I was even more committed, focused, and capable of working hard. Shortcuts won’t help you achieve your goals if you don’t want to.
- In June 2020, a video went viral on the internet, featuring an interview between Sunil Gavaskar and Sachin Tendulkar from 1996, in which Gavaskar foretold Tendulkar’s ascension to superstardom. He also claimed that it was the first and only occasion on which his mother had gone to see him perform. He explained,
“When I was about to play my final match, I informed the board, the BCCI, that these two matches would be my last, but my one request and hope was that I play my final game in Mumbai so that my mother could attend the stadium and watch. She hasn’t seen me play live in 24 years, but they graciously consented to host the final game in Mumbai.
- Sachin Tendulkar and his son Arjun became the first father-son team to compete in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on April 16, 2023, when Arjun made his IPL debut for the Mumbai Indians against the Kolkata Knight Riders.
- His feats on the cricket field were largely solitary endeavors for the majority of his career. When Sachin was at the height of his career, people would watch as long as he was in the middle of the batting order, but as soon as he was dismissed, they would turn off their televisions and return to their jobs because they thought victory was no longer likely.
