IPL 2023 entire schedule: Information on the dates, locations, times, and doubleheaders

The IPL 2023 is scheduled to start on Friday, and fans are preparing for some great cricket and an amazing extravaganza. In the first game of the year, Chennai Super Kings will take on the defending champion Gujarat Titans.

The first match of the IPL 2023 season, between the defending champion Gujarat Giants and Chennai Super Kings, will take place at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on Friday. The GT team, captained by Hardik Pandya, dominated the IPL 2022 season, finishing first in the standings with 20 points from 14 games, with 10 victories and 4 losses. GT defeated Rajasthan Royals in the playoffs to advance to the championship game. Due to being in second place, RR played Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Eliminator and won by seven wickets to secure a spot in the championship game.

The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad hosted the final, which GT won by a margin of seven wickets. Hardik and company were chasing a goal of 131 runs when they reached 133/3 in 18.1 overs thanks to opener Shubman Gill’s unbroken 45 runs off 43 balls, which included three fours and a six. The first time around, RR scored 130/9 in 20 overs, with Hardik grabbing three wickets. The Player of the Match award went to the GT captain.

Before IPL 2023, all 10 franchises added some shrewd players to their rosters, with many spending a lot of money in the auction. With Punjab Kings’ purchase of Sam Curran for 18.50 crores during the IPL 2023 Auction, the player became the most expensive in the history of the league. Ben Stokes and Cameron Green, who cost 17.50 crores and 16.25 crores respectively, were splashed out by the Mumbai Indians and CSK. Nicholas Pooran was purchased by Lucknow Super Giants for 16 crores, and Harry Brook joined Sunrisers Hyderabad for 13.25 crores.

IPL 2023 will include 18 doubleheaders and a total of 70 league games. There will be seven home and away games for each team. The first two home games for the Rajasthan Royals will be in Guwahati, and the following games will be played in Jaipur. The Punjab Kings will play their first five at home in Mohali before playing their final two at home in Dharamshala.
