Fans are confused by Mohammed Shami’s message for his now-viral photo with Preity Zinta.

On Saturday, Mohammed Shami posted a picture of himself with Bollywood star and co-owner of Punjab Kings Preity Zinta.

Over the past 16 years, one of the reasons the IPL has been so popular is that it has been able to mix Bollywood and cricket in a way that makes it a great show. Few Bollywood stars have been involved with the league since it started because they own franchises, but many have gone to the grounds over the years to cheer for their teams. Cricketers and these stars also get along well, and they are often seen chatting after games or for social media material for the league or franchise.

On Saturday, India’s senior bowler Mohammed Shami posted a picture of himself with Bollywood star and co-owner of Punjab Kings Preity Zinta. It happened in Mohali on Thursday, right after the IPL 2023 match between Punjab and reigning champion Gujarat Titans, which Shami plays for.

Fans were confused by Shami’s comment, which made the post go viral on social media. He had written, “Re-activating the old memories—Yorker seekhna baki hai, @realpreityzinta.” Here’s what people on Twitter said…

Shami played for the Punjab team from 2019 to 2021. In 2022, he was picked up by the Gujarat Titans, where he was a key part of the team’s title win that year.

But Punjab lost that match against GT at home on Thursday. It was their second loss in a row after starting the season with two straight wins. On the other hand, Gujarat came back from Rinku Singh’s attack at home to beat PBKS by six wickets in a nail-biting last over.

With the win, GT moved up to third place in the points table. They are now only the third team in IPL 2023, after Lucknow Super Giants and Rajasthan Royals, to have won three games so far. PBKS, on the other hand, fell to sixth place.
