Brendon McCullum gets in trouble with the ECB after they investigate his betting ads.

Since joining betting organization “22Bet” as an ambassador in January, the former New Zealand captain has been featured in digital commercials.

The fact that England head coach Brendon McCullum is in ads for online betting has gotten him into trouble. The country’s cricket board (ECB) is looking into whether or not it breaks the anti-corruption rules of the governing body.

Since joining betting organization “22Bet” as an ambassador in January, the former New Zealand captain has been featured in internet commercials. On March 27th, he promoted 22Bet’s Indian Premier League markets by posting a video to his Facebook page.

“We are exploring the matter and in discussions with Brendon around his relationship with 22Bet,” the ECB was quoted as saying by the BBC.

“We have rules in place around gambling, and we will always seek to ensure these are followed.”

However, the ECB made it clear that McCullum is not the subject of any current probes.

Last Monday, the ECB received a complaint from the Problem Gambling Foundation of New Zealand regarding the ads.

Any act that “directly or indirectly solicits, induces, entices, instructs, persuades, encourages, facilitates, or authorizes any other party to enter into a bet” on the outcome, course, conduct, or other aspect of a match or competition is prohibited by the ECB’s anti-discrimination code.

According to the code, a penalty of “ineligibility” of at least a year would be imposed for such an offense.

Since McCullum took over as coach at the beginning of last summer, England has won 10 of their last 12 Tests.
