  • Though he was appointed as the Indian cricket team’s coach in June 2016, various stories circulated in early 2017 indicating disagreements between Kumble and Virat Kohli. However, before the Champions Trophy 2017, when the BCCI issued an advertisement for the post of men’s Indian cricket team coach, Anil felt severely wounded and chose to terminate his coaching work, and on June 21, 2017, Anil resigned from the post of Indian cricket team coach.
